This weekend some of my works were in Tamines, Belgium, at the Bozar de l'Abattoir, the smallest art fair in the world. It was a pleasure to share the show with such a big group of talented artists

A new atelier to work properly
I'm moving to a new bigger and proper atelier, almost 300 m2 in Caldes de Montbui (not far from home). Moving is a hard work but I'm also excited... I'll have a lot of space to work properly.

Exhibition " Light, Art and Living" in Biberach
Under the title " Light, Art and Living", the Interior Design Studio Heinzel, Biberach exhibits from 10.10 till 7.11.2014 a selection of wellknown classical furniture, together with paintings and sculptures from young artists of the Gallery Marc Decoene.
What does a classical design like the Lounge Chair of Charles Eames or the LC2 armchair of Le Corbusier have in common with the obstinate and dancing creations of some young spanish painters and sculptors?
The border between design and art has always been flowing. Both creative forms search for fascination through expressiveness, innovation and visionary audacity.
The Exhibition goes from 10.10 till 7.11.2014

selfportrait of an artis as trying to emerge
Trying to emerge in the art market it's quite a tough thing. Like if I was caught under an avalanche it's so difficult to know if I'm really digging the way up.
Accept precarious jobs in order to survive and dedicate your free time to the major glory of your art... you're digging up and when you think you're reaching the surface you realize you are still under the ground, under-ground.
I've been spending so many years trying to emerge that I'm starting to feel comfortable under the ground so I'm not going to consider me an emerging artist anymore, from now on I'll call myself an underground artist.
As a matter of fact my art looks pretty underground, and I have quite an underground taste myself ( I love garage and psychobilly music, B and Z movies, underground comic...)
So I'm not digging up anymore I accept my underground Self.

Contortionists of Siam #6
This is CONTORTIONISTS OF SIAM #6 carved in wood. 107x61x49cmts
Contortortionists and Siamese contortionists is a main topic in my work. In our west society dominated by the way of prodution of the postfordist capitalism work has become a way of virtous performance that has no longer the production of valuables as a result
As the philosopher and semiologist Paolo Virno argues the charasteristics of the virtuous performer - pianist, dancer, actor...- such as improvisation, comunication, are nowadays in the foundation of the interllectual mass work.
A new kind of work that is structured in the same way of a public sfere were all of us as workers we are countinously exposed to the presence and the look of the Other
I think that because of the demands of flexibility and constant training. And due of the deep crisis the figure of the contortionist has become the paradigm - among all performers- of the new social precariat
As contortionists we twist and turn following the working market requirements
As Siamese contortionists our intellectial work faces us to the look of the Other, that is just another Self, twisting and mixing with us in our everyday's pirouette since we no longer know where the Self finishes and where the Other starts.
As fragmented contortionists we adquire new skills and we remove our useless organs.
Flexibility, constant training, precious employment...
to look at the grotesque figures of 'the secret life of a contortionist' it's to look at ourselves
